Please join ITIF on Monday, September 28, from 9:00-10:30am, for the event Benchmarking Leading Countries’ National Innovation Policies. ITIF Senior Analyst Stephen Ezell will present findings from a report appearing in September’s Democracy Journal benchmarking national innovation policies and analyzing what the United States can learn from the worlds’ ten most innovation-forward countries.
Debra Amidon, CEO of ENTOVATION International Ltd, and Peter Westerstråhle, Science and Technology Counselor for Tekes, Finland’s National Agency for Technology and Innovation, will serve as panel respondents. Mrs. Amidon will share results from the Knowledge Innovation Zone initiative—a global network of knowledge innovation experts across 68 nations—which has examined hundreds of examples of countries and regions building economic development strategies, such as Dubai Knowledge Village, Manchester Knowledge Capital, and Desert Knowledge Australia. Mr. Westerstråhle will present details of Finland’s revised National Innovation Strategy, released in March, which seeks to migrate the country up the value chain to compete in the highest value-added sectors of economic activity. Mr. Caine will provide the corporate perspective for why nations need to be competitive on innovation platforms.
We hope you can join us for this compelling forum.
